BIB NUMBER AND TECHNICAL T-SHIRT PICK-UP
Your Number Pick-Up Card has been mailed to you and imprinted with your race number and information you provided to the B.A.A. during the entry process.
Please verify the accuracy of the information printed on this card.
If any changes need to be made, call the B.A.A. Registration Office at 508-435-6905 or send an e-mail detailing the necessary correction to 5kregistration@baa.org by April 9.

THE NUMBER PICK-UP CARD IS REQUIRED TO
CLAIM YOUR BIB NUMBER AND TECHNICAL T-SHIRT.

Please refer to the schedule at the top of this page for pick-up times and locations. Be prepared to show proper identification. If you have lost your Number Pick-Up Card, a duplicate will be issued upon presentation of your photo identification. To have a friend pick up your bib number packet, you must first sign the card. The friend must write his/her name and address on the card and present photo identification at Number Pick-Up.
A ChronoTrack timing device is attached to your bib number. Volunteers will be available to answer questions and provide instructions about the tag. The “B-tag” from ChronoTrack Systems stays attached to your bib number. It is yours to keep, but cannot be re-used for other events.

COURSE
The 5K (3.1-mile) flat, loop course begins on Boylston Street at the Copley Square Fountain, near the Clarendon Street intersection, and ends at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. It passes several Boston landmarks, including the Massachusetts State House, the Boston Common and the Public Garden. As the race begins, it proceeds straight on Boylston Street, making a left on Tremont Street, then a left on Park Street up a short hill before making a left on Beacon Street, running down Beacon Hill alongside Boston Common and the Public Garden. Runners then take a left on Arlington Street and a right onto Commonwealth Avenue. At Berkeley, runners take a left back to Boylston, then a right on Boylston and a right on Clarendon, returning to Commonwealth Avenue. There, runners will take a left and continue until taking a left on Hereford and then a left on Boylston to the Boston Marathon finish line.

COURSE AMENITIES & POST-RACE AMENITIES
Fluid Replacement
Poland Spring Water will be available at the start, finish and at two water stations on the course, located near miles 1 and 2. Gatorade Thirst Quencher fluid replacement will be available at the finish.

Post-5K Refreshments and Medal
Poland Spring Water, Gatorade Thirst Quencher, Bear Naked Granola and Stretch Island Fruit Strips will be served inside the tent. You will also receive your finisher’s medal here.

PORT-O-JOHNS
For your convenience, an ample number of port-o-johns will be available as you head toward the start line, and will also be available for use after the race. Please use these facilities. Participants are requested to respect the surrounding private and public property by using the port-o-johns provided.

MEDICAL
Medical personnel will be available to give emergency care as well as attend to non-critical injuries at the finish line. The B.A.A. is not responsible for event-related injuries, and athletes are responsible for individual expenses incurred.

COURSE CLOCKS AND MILE SIGNAGE
Digital clocks, positioned at every mile and at the finish line, will indicate unofficial time from the starter’s gun.

DROP-OUT AND COURSE CLOSURE
Any runners remaining on the course after 9:00 a.m. will be asked to move to the sidewalks for the remainder of the course. At 9:30 a.m., a series of Invitational Mile races will begin from the 5K finish line, so all 5K entrants must be through the finish line before then.
For safety reasons animals, strollers, in-line skates, skateboards, bicycles and like vehicles of any kind are not permitted. The B.A.A. discourages the use of iPods and headphones.

FINISH
At the finish, volunteers will direct you toward the tent for postrace refreshments.

TIMING AND RESULTS
The ChronoTrack timing system will enable you to receive your net time, which will be your official time. The timing device, which stays attached to your bib number, must be worn on your outer layer for the entire race for you to be scored, to be timed and to appear among the results as an official finisher.

Timing will conclude one hour following the start, at 9:00 a.m. Those remaining on the course will be directed off the roadways and onto sidewalks.

Results will be posted Sunday afternoon on both the B.A.A. website
(www.baa.org) and Cool Running (www.coolrunning.com).

GETTING TO HYNES MEMORIAL CONVENTION CENTER AND SUNDAY RACE-DAY START AND FINISH
Because of street closures and/or traffic congestion, entrants, their families and spectators are strongly encouraged to take public transportation to both the Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center and the start/finish area. The Copley Square station on the MBTA Green Line is located just steps from the start/finish area, while the Hynes Convention Center MBTA station on the B, C, and D Green Line branches is just a few blocks from Friday and Saturday’s Number Pick-Up location.

OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER
MarathonFoto (www.marathonfoto.com) is the official photographer of the B.A.A. 5K. Each entrant will receive an email in the weeks following the race with details regarding the purchase of photographs.
