Alzheimer's Association of MA/NH is no longer accepting applications for the 2014 Boston Marathon. Qualified runners that have been accepted in the 2014 Boston Marathon are invited to contact us for more information about joining our team.
The Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH Chapter opened its doors in 1980 as one of the founding Chapters of our national association. We are the world leader in Alzheimer research and support, the first and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and an eventual cure for Alzheimer’s. We offer support and services in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Our Run to End Alzheimer’s team consists of both qualified and charity runners with a commitment to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. Our runners will have a coach, training runs and a fundraising mentor to help with their success.

1996 - Centennial Boston Marathon

The historic centennial Boston Marathon in 1996 was monumental for many reasons. It was the not only the first time that the ChampionChip timing and scoring device was used in a major US Marathon, but it was the largest running event ever held at the time.

The starting field of 38,708 stood for more than seven years as the largest in the history of the sport. Included among the finishers were 16 Boston champions.
