Tedy's Team is no longer accepting applications for invitational entry into the 2016 Boston Marathon. Official qualified participants who are already entered in the 2016 Boston Marathon that wish to raise funds for Tedy's Team may still do so using the contact information found above.
“Tedy’s Team,” is a group of runners raising money for the American Stroke Association through their training for the Boston Marathon® and many other major road races. Their participation supports Tedy Bruschi’s fight against stroke and honors both the survivors and the loved ones lost to America’s No. 4 leading cause of death. Tedy’s Team is striving to reach as many people as possible in its message of recognizing the warning signs and acting appropriate when seeing them - calling 9-1-1 immediately.

1966 - Bobbi Gibb

Although not an official entrant, Roberta “Bobbi” Gibb became the first woman to run the Boston Marathon. Joining the starting field shortly after the gun had been fired, Gibb finished the race in 3:21:40 to place 126th overall. Gibb again claimed the “unofficial” title in 1967 and 1968.
