JDRF is no longer accepting applications for the 2014 Boston Marathon. Qualified runners that have been accepted in the 2014 Boston Marathon are invited to contact us for more information about joining our team.
Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF is the leader in setting the agenda for diabetes research worldwide, and is the largest charitable funder of and advocate for type 1 diabetes research.  The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.

Funds raised through the B.A.A. Boston Marathon Charity Program will be directed by JDRF toward funding research to find a cure for diabetes and its complications and to develop transformative treatments that enable people with type 1 diabetes to live healthier, safer lives until that cure is found.  In addition, the funds will support JDRF’s local Outreach programs for individuals and families with a type 1 diabetes connection.  Together, we can deliver better treatments and eventually a cure.  Partnering with JDRF holds the promise of helping to bring about the day when type 1 diabetes does not exist.

2010 - The Hoyts

When many think of the Boston Marathon, they think of Team Hoyt, the father/son team of Dick and Rick who have participated in their unique way 28 times. Dick was 69 at the 2010 Boston Marathon.
