Time: Registration and reception beginning at 5:30 p.m.; presentation at 6:15 p.m. and lasting one hour.

Format For Clinics:
5:30 - 6:15 p.m.

  • Clinic registration and official Boston Marathon adidas apparel, and a full line of adidas footwear.
  • Marathon Sports will be present to assist with your selection of footwear and apparel, if necessary.
  • Interact with B.A.A. and adidas staff, officials and experts before the clinic begins.

6:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.

  • Presentation
  • Each clinic concentrates on various topics and will feature experts in their field.

7:15 p.m.- 8:30 p.m.

  • Get your individual questions answered by B.A.A. experts.

Additional Information:

  • Boston Marathon merchandise shopping continues at Marathon Sports (671 Boylston Street, Boston MA 02116).
  • As part of your attendance, you will be eligible to receive raffle prizes which will be distributed at the conclusion of each clinic.

1972 - Women Official Entrants in Marathon

Although Bobbi Gibb was the first woman to complete the Boston Marathon in 1966, it was not until the 1972 Boston Marathon that women could become official entrants due to a change in AAU rules. Pictured (left to right) above are seven of the eight women who participanted in the first official women's field of the Boston Marathon - Nina Kusciak, Katherine Switzer, Elaine Pederson, Ginny Collins, Pat Barrett, Frances Morrison, Sara Mae Berman (not pictured - Valerie Rogosheske).
