Bring a government issued photo I.D. to the card replacement desk in the Number Pick-up area, and we will issue a new card. A Number Pick-up Card must be presented in order to receive your number.

Entrants in the Boston Marathon who have submitted a time that meets the qualifying standard for their age and gender will be seeded accordingly. Entrants without a qualifying time will be assigned a bib number accordingly.

The official airline of the Boston Marathon is jetBlue, and in the months leading up to the Marathon, registered runners receive promotional codes for discounted jetting to Boston. All finishers will receive a specially designed medal before exiting the finish chutes. No finisher’s certificates will be issued on site, but will be mailed to all finishers once all of the results are made official. This process usually is completed by the summer following the race.

Bring a government issued photo I.D. to the registration area on race day, and we will issue a new number. We will cancel your previous number, and void the timing device so that no one can misrepresent you.

Boston Marathon official Finishers’ Certificates and Racers’ Record Books are typically produced in May and June, and then mailed out in July. Delivery can take up to several weeks to be delivered. Please contact the registration office by sending an email with your current mailing address to registration@baa.org in early September if you do not receive either of these items.

No, please do NOT run if you have not been officially entered in the race. Race amenities along the course and at the finish, such as fluids, medical care, and traffic safety, are provided based on the number of expected official entrants. Any addition to this by way of unofficial participants, adversely affects our ability to ensure a safe race for everyone.

For application into the Boston Marathon, applicants must provide the name and date of the Marathon at which they qualified, and their official finishing time. The B.A.A. will verify all qualifying times before granting acceptance into the race.

A:

All finishers will receive a B.A.A. Half Marathon medal. Prize money will be awarded equally to men and women, based on gun time. You can find more information here: Prize Money

Awards will be mailed at a later date to the top five finishers overall and top three push rim wheelchair division finishers, along with the first, second and third place finishers in the following age groups for both men and women: 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+.

Participants who complete the course will receive a specially designed finisher's medal.
