We are aware that some entrants may not receive their Boston Marathon Participant Guide, Runner Passport, or Number Pick-up Card in the mail before departing for Boston. If you do not receive your participant mailing in time for the Boston Marathon, please bring a government issued photo ID to the Solutions Center in the bib number pick-up area of the John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo. Once there, volunteers and members of our runner services team will issue you a replacement Number Pick-up Card. Volunteers will also direct you to where you can pick up your bib number.

Your qualifying time is based on your age on the day of the Boston Marathon, thus your qualifying standard will be 3hrs 25 min - and you can be 44 when you run your qualifying race.

Boston Marathon official Finishers’ Certificates and Racers’ Record Books are typically produced in May and June, and then mailed out in July. Delivery can take up to several weeks to be delivered. Please contact the registration office by sending an email with your current mailing address to registration@baa.org in early September if you do not receive either of these items.

Bring a government issued photo I.D. to the registration area on race day, and we will issue a new number. We will cancel your previous number, and void the timing device so that no one can misrepresent you.

A:

Boston Marathon confirmation postcards were mailed out via USPS in late October. It may take up to several weeks for international postcards to arrive. Please note that your confirmation postcard is simply an additional notification of your acceptance into the Boston Marathon, and you do not need to bring it with you to claim your bib number on race weekend.

Registrants of the B.A.A. Half Marathon should receive their bib number in the mail. If you do not receive your bib number by one week prior to the event, send a detailed e-mail to halfregistration@baa.org. You will be provided a replacement bib which you can pick up on site at Franklin Park. If you are changing your address between now and the B.A.A. Half Marathon, please let the B.A.A. know, so your bib number is sent to your correct location.

Bring a government issued photo I.D. to the card replacement desk in the Number Pick-up area, and we will issue a new card. A Number Pick-up Card must be presented in order to receive your number.

Yes, if you run your improved qualifying time within the current qualifying window for the next Boston Marathon, you can reuse it to submit during the next registration period. For information on the current qualifying window, click the button below:

Stop for assistance and direction at one of the 26 Red Cross aid stations along the course. Sweep buses pick up runners at every Red Cross station with drop-off at the finish area medical tent. Aid stations along the course close at staggered times during the day. Finish area facilities officially close six hours after the last runner crosses the start line in Hopkinton. (About 6:00 p.m.)
