Running Club Reception Cancelled
In light of recent events, and out of respect for the victims and all those affected by the recent tragedy, the Running Club Reception scheduled for Tuesday, April 23rd has been cancelled. There are no plans to reschedule. We at the B.A.A. appreciate your understanding.

We would refer you to our website, www.baa.org, if you have any questions regarding baggage and medal pick-up or any other logistics related to race day.

For those that have been asking “What can I do?” The B.A.A. has partnered with Governor Deval Patrick and Mayor Thomas Menino to support The One Fund. Information about The One Fund can be found at: http://onefundboston.org/

Finally, we have received many inquiries about 2013 results and planning for the 2014 Marathon. All information will be posted to the website as it becomes available.

1972 - Women Official Entrants in Marathon

Although Bobbi Gibb was the first woman to complete the Boston Marathon in 1966, it was not until the 1972 Boston Marathon that women could become official entrants due to a change in AAU rules.
