After running three 10K's between 28:45 and 28:47, Martin Fagan finally ducked under 28:40 at the Great Manchester Run in mid-May.

Fagan was plagued by a torn left achilles tendon in the middle of  2009, but his recent results seem to indicate a full recovery.

He is a past winner of the BAA Half-Marathon in 2009 and the Manchester Road Race in 2008.

Born in An Iarmhí/Westmeath, Ireland, he graduated from Providence College and currently trains in Flagstaff, Arizona
