CAREER NOTES:

In his professional road racing debut, Shawn Forrest showed he was not afraid to mix it up with the vaunted Kenyans and Ethiopians as he was in the lead pack at the 2010 Beach to Beacon Road Race. Although he faded a bit to sixth place by the finish, he was still the top non-African of the day.

Forrest has run 27:52.10 on the track for 10,000m and earlier this year set a personal best for the half-marathon (1:01:25).

He is a 2009 graduate of the University of Arkansas and that year won the Stanford Invitational 5000m and was second in the NCAA championships 10,000 meters to Galen Rupp.

Forrest is from Melbourne, Australia and currently lives in Greensboro, NC.
