In early May, Simon Ndirangu had the biggest victory of his career when he won the Lilac Bloomsday 12-K in Spokane. He followed that up with another victory at the Newport 10K road race a week later and a solid fifth place in the Healthy Kidney 10-K in New York City.

Ndirangu's road PR (27:49) dates back to last year at the Cooper River Bridge Run. In his career he has run slightly faster on the track, 27:31.29 in 2005.

He was born in Nyahuru, Kenya and is the younger brother of Peter Ndirangu. He spent 2004-2006 as a student living in Japan.
