2016 B.A.A. 5K Registration is Closed

Registration is now closed for the 2016 B.A.A. 5K, after having reached out maximum capacity of 10,000 entrants. Registration begins on Wednesday, April 6 for the 2016 B.A.A. 10K, to be held on Sunday, June 26. Registration begins on Wednesday, July 13 for the 2016 B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, to be held on Sunday, October 9.
2016 B.A.A. 10K Registration

Registration for the 2016 B.A.A. 10K opens on Wednesday, April 6 at 10:00 a.m. ET, and will be limited to the first 10,000 entrants. The race will be held on Sunday, June 26, and is the second race in the 2016 B.A.A. Distance Medley.

Course Map

The B.A.A. 5K starts on Charles Street in between Boston Common and the Boston Public Garden. After racing out Commonwealth Avenue and back, participants will pass over the Boston Marathon finish line on their way towards the finish line located near the start area.

1920 - Ashland Start

The Boston Marathon began in Ashland, Massachusetts from 1897 through 1923 then moved to Hopkinton for the 1924 race. The course was lengthened to 26 miles, 385 yards to conform to the Olympic standard, and the starting line was moved west from Ashland to Hopkinton. Since then, the race has started in Hopkinton every year.
