Bib Number and T-shirt pick-up in the large tent on Dartmouth Street between Boylston Street and St. James Avenue in Copley Square Park. Enter on St. James Street side of tent.

5K START on Boylston Street at Copley Square fountain

9:00 a.m.
5K Course closes

9:30 a.m.
Start of the B.A.A. Invitational Mile races, a series of four 1-mile races for scholastic girls and boys and professional men and women. Middle School athletes will also compete in a 1,000m race. Stay and watch!

BIB NUMBER AND TECHNICAL T-SHIRT PICK-UP

  • Please bring your Number Pick-Up Card, imprinted with your race number and information you provided to the B.A.A. during the entry process to the John B. Hynes Convention Center
    (900 Boylston Street Boston, MA 02115, 617-954-2000).
  • In advance of race weekend, please verify the accuracy of the information printed on the card.
  • If any changes need to be made, call the B.A.A. Registration Office at 508-435-6905 or send an e-mail detailing the necessary correction to 5kregistration@baa.org by Friday, April 5.
  • THE  NUMBER PICK-UP CARD IS REQUIRED TO CLAIM YOUR BIB NUMBER AND TECHNICAL T-SHIRT.
  • Please refer to the schedule at the top of this page for pick-up times and locations.
  •  Be prepared to show proper identification.
  • If you have lost your Number Pick-Up Card, a duplicate will be issued upon presentation of your photo identification.
  • To have a friend pick up your bib number packet, you must first sign the card.
  • The friend must write his/her name and address on the card and present photo identification at Number Pick-Up.
  • A ChronoTrack timing device is attached to your bib number.
  • Volunteers will be available to answer questions and provide instructions about the tag. 
  • It is yours to keep, but cannot be re-used for other events.

1972 - Women Official Entrants in Marathon

Although Bobbi Gibb was the first woman to complete the Boston Marathon in 1966, it was not until the 1972 Boston Marathon that women could become official entrants due to a change in AAU rules.
