Fifth annual event is now sold out

We appreciate your interest in running the 2013 B.A.A. 5K on Sunday, April 14, however the race has reached its maximum field size limit and registration is now closed.

The B.A.A. does not permit transfer of bibs or entries.

Registration will open on May 1 for the 2013 B.A.A. 10K to be held on Sunday, June 23; and registration will open on July 17 for the 2013 B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, to be held on Sunday, October 13. The B.A.A. 5K, B.A.A. 10K, and the B.A.A. Half Marathon are part of the 2013 B.A.A. Distance Medley.

1972 - Women Official Entrants in Marathon

Although Bobbi Gibb was the first woman to complete the Boston Marathon in 1966, it was not until the 1972 Boston Marathon that women could become official entrants due to a change in AAU rules.
