Getting to the Start/Finish at White Stadium in Franklin Park

PARKING

  • There is no parking within Franklin Park on race day.
  • Parking on the street in the surrounding neighborhoods of Roxbury, Dorchester, and Jamaica Plain is extremely limited.
  • We strongly recommend race participants who are driving take the official B.A.A. shuttles from the Channel Center Garage and Necco Street Garage in South Boston (more information below).

SHUTTLE SERVICE TO START/FINISH AREA

The B.A.A. will provide shuttle bus service from three locations that will drop runners off at Franklin Park near the intersection of Humboldt Avenue and Seaver Street. This is less than a quarter-mile from the start line. The Three Shuttle Locations Are:

  • CHANNEL CENTER GARAGE / NECCO STREET GARAGE
  • JFK/UMASS MBTA STATION (MBTA RED LINE)
  • FOREST HILLS MBTA STATION (MBTA ORANGE LINE)

Parking in these designated garages is free. Signage and volunteers will be on site to assist.

  • Shuttle service pre-race will run from 5:30 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. (last shuttle is expected to leave garages by 7:00 a.m. - ARRIVE EARLY!)
  • Return shuttles after the race will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

From the West:

  • Take I-90 Eastbound to Exit 25 “South Boston.”
  • Bear left to follow directions to Seaport Blvd. Turn left on Congress Street at top of ramp.
  • Turn left on A Street.
  • Follow A Street about 0.4 miles to Richards Street.
  • Turn left on Richards Street and enter garage from the right.

From the North:

  • Take I-93 Southbound to Exit 20B and follow directions to Albany Street.
  • Follow Albany Street to West Broadway.
  • Turn left onto West Broadway (direction sign: South Boston).
  • Go two sets of lights and turn left on A Street.
  • Follow A Street four intersections to West First Street.
  • Turn right on West First Street and enter garage from the right.

From the South:

  • Take I-93 Northbound to Exit 18 Frontage Road.
    Follow Frontage Road (parallel to I-93) to West Fourth Street.
  • Turn left on West Fourth Street (direction sign: South Boston).
  • Go two sets of lights and turn left on A Street.
  • Follow A Street six intersections to West First Street.
  • Turn right on West First Street and enter garage from the right.

JFK/UMASS MBTA STATION (MBTA RED LINE)*

  • No parking at this location.

  • Shuttle service to Franklin Park from 5:30 a.m. to 7:15 a.m.
  • Pick up and drop off in front of the T Station on the Morrissey Boulevard side.
  • Return shuttle service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

* Buses replace Red Line service between Park Street and Kendall/MIT on race weekend.
* Columbia Road entrance/exit at JFK/Umass is closed on race weekend.

FOREST HILLS MBTA STATION (MBTA ORANGE LINE)

DROP OFF & PICK UP - SOUTH ENTRANCE OF FRANKLIN PARK ZOO

You may choose to have a friend or relative drop you off before the race and pick you up after the race. If you choose this option, we suggest North Peabody Circle, which is located at the South entrance to the Franklin Park Zoo and near the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue, Columbia Road, and Franklin Park Road. Roads within Franklin Park will close by 6:45 a.m. and drop off access near the start line will be blocked. If you plan to be dropped off on race morning, please plan to arrive no later than 6:45 a.m. Runner drop off and pick up at Columbia Road and Blue Hill Avenue will remain open. Parking will not be permitted at this location.

From Storrow Drive:

  • Take the Fenway exit to Route 1 South.
  • Follow Route 1 to Route 203 East, following signs for Franklin Park Zoo.
  • Once you pass the Arnold Arboretum, at the next rotary, go two-thirds of the way around, and enter Franklin Park.
  • Follow signs to the Franklin Park Zoo.

From Route 128 North or South:

  • Take exit 15A (Dedham Exit) to Route 1A.
  • Stay on Route 1 (approximately 4 miles) until it becomes the VFW Parkway.
  • Continue on the VFW Parkway, approximately three miles, until it ends.
  • Take a left on Centre Street.
  • At the rotary, take 203 East on to the Arborway.
  • Once you pass the Arnold Arboretum, at the next rotary, go two-thirds of the way around, and enter Franklin Park.
  • Follow signs to the Franklin Park Zoo.

From I-93 North of Boston:

  • Take I-93S to Exit 15, Columbia Road.
  • At the end of ramp take a right on to Columbia Road.
  • At the third light Columbia Road turns left, continue on Columbia Road through nine more lights.
  • Go straight across Blue Hill Avenue until it becomes Franklin Park Road.
  • You will have now entered Franklin Park.
  • Follow signs to the Franklin Park Zoo.

From I-93 South of Boston:

  • Take I-93N to Exit 15, Columbia Road.
  • Take a right at the end of the ramp - you must go up and around the rotary and then come back - to be heading in the correct direction on Columbia Road.
  • At the third set of lights, Columbia Road turns left.
  • Continue on Columbia Road through nine more sets of lights.
  • Go straight across Blue Hill Avenue on Franklin Park Road.

From Route 9:

  • Take Route 9 to Route 1 (the Jamaicaway) South.
  • Follow Route 1 to Route 203 East.
  • Once you pass the Arnold Arboretum, at the next rotary, go two-thirds of the way around, and enter Franklin Park.
  • Follow signs to the Franklin Park Zoo.

ADDITIONAL PARKING INFORMATION

The Garage at 100 Clarendon is the official parking garage of the 2017 B.A.A. Half Marathon. Located next to the Back Bay train station, Orange Line access to Forest Hills is easy. (The B.A.A. will provide shuttle service between the Forest Hills station and Franklin Park before and after the race.). The Garage at 100 Clarendon is located in the heart of Boston's Back Bay, with its main entrance on Clarendon Street, above the Mass Pike.
