Here's what you can do on race day

START/FINISH

Bus Greeter
Team Captain: Mike Giallongo
Check-in time: 5:00 a.m.
Estimated check-out time: 11:30 a.m.
Bus Greeters are the very first B.A.A. representatives of the day. Volunteers will welcome and assist participants as they park and make their way to the shuttles. 

 
Gear Check
Team Captain: Bob Pugsley
Check-in time: 6:15 a.m. 
Estimated check-out time: 11:30 a.m.
Official participants will be given the opportunity to check their gear prior to the race. Gear will be organized for easy distribution to the participants following their race. 
 
Food Tent
Team Captain: Jennifer Wiederhold 
Check-in time: 6:30 a.m.
Estimated check-out time: 11:30 a.m.
These volunteers will set-up and help distribute various food and beverage products available to participants before and after the race.  
 
Medal Distribution
Team Captain: Ron Foisy
Check-in time: 7:30 a.m. 
Estimated check-out time: 11:30 a.m.
Participants will receive a medal after they cross the finish line. Volunteers will set up and distribute medals to race finishers.
 
Shirt Distribution
Team Captain: Tom Donovan 
Check-in time: 6:15 a.m.
Estimated check-out time: 11:30 a.m.
Volunteers will set-up and help distribute participant shirts before and after the race.
 
Start and Distance Medley Medal Distribution
Team Captain: Ron Foisy
Check-in time: 6:30 a.m.
Estimated check-out time: 11:30 a.m.
Volunteers will assist the flow of participants at the Start Line before the race. Distance Medley participants will receive a special medal after they cross the finish line. Volunteers will help distribute these medals.
 
Event Marshal  – White Stadium
Team Captain: Brian Rettman
Check-in Time: 6:00 a.m. 
Estimated check-out time: 11:30 a.m.
Volunteers will help the flow of participant, press, spectator and elite athlete traffic.

ON COURSE

Course Monitors
Team Captain: Hap Farber
Check-in Time: 6:15 a.m. 
Estimated check-out time: 11:30 a.m.
Course Monitors will be relied upon to provide the participants with direction, as well as safety along the course. They will meet at Playstead Park and be dispatched from there via bus. They should remain at their location until picked up again by bus.
 
Ham Radio Communications
Team Captain: Brett Smith, AB1RL
Check-in time: 6:00 a.m.
Estimated check-out time: 11:30 a.m.
Hams provide communications from Medical and Water stations, and at critical course locations. An Amateur Radio license of Technician class or above is required.   

MEDICAL

Medical Tent
Team Captain: Chris Troyanos
Check-in time: 6:00 a.m. (all start/finish and course volunteers) 
Estimated check-out time: 11:30 a.m.
Medical tents will be set up at the Start/Finish Area and at three locations along the course. All course medical staff should check in at Playstead Park. Upon check-in, all medical volunteers will assist in setting up equipment in the medical tent. A group medical meeting will take place at 6:15 a.m., after which all course medical staff will then be transported to their assigned course location.  

PRE-RACE

B.A.A. Bib and Shirt Pickup
Team Captain: Mary Miller
Volunteers will distribute bibs and participant t-shirts at Boston Marathon adidas RunBase located at 855 Boylston Street in Boston - right at the 26-mile mark of the Boston Marathon!

Thursday Shift 1: 11:30am-4:00pm
Thursday Shift 2: 3:30pm-8:15pm
Friday Shift 1: 11:30am-3:45pm
Friday Shift 2: 3:15pm-7:45pm
Saturday: 10:30am-4:15pm
