MMP is the only statewide organization that expands quality youth mentoring throughout Massachusetts. MMP has a high-impact, multiplier effect by working with more than 165 youth mentoring programs across the state, in the creation and support of 20,000 structured youth-adult mentoring relationships. MMP supports and enhances these programs by recruiting adults to volunteer; delivering direct training and technical assistance; advocating for public and private funding for mentoring; heightening the visibility of mentoring and its role in youth violence prevention, closing the achievement gap, and workforce development; and building public awareness about the need for and impact of mentoring.

MMP works to expand quality youth mentoring across the Commonwealth through two distinct strategies: providing services directly to programs with established and startup youth mentoring programs; and building awareness of mentoring and directing resources that build the field as a whole. Programs working with MMP grew their youth served by 17% from 2006 to 2008.
