We leverage the incredible lessons learned on the court and field to drive academic achievement and help youth create a roadmap for life.
Scholar Athletes mission is to support academic achievement through athletics. In three Massachusetts school districts and 22 public high schools, we host what we call Zones, dedicated spaces in schools where young people join Scholar Athletes staff to work towards their own goals. Whether that means writing college essays, working on homework, learning about scholarship opportunities, developing fitness goals, or researching career paths, in the Zone, we provide access to the tools and resources for building a real plan for real life.
The youth in our programs – called Zone members – participate in three core program areas: Academic Coaching & Mentoring, Health & Wellness, and College & Career Readiness. Our Zone members receive support for their academic success and social-emotional skill development in a targeted and tailored way, integrating lessons from the field or wellness programming into their everyday experience. Whether learning kickboxing in our We Are Fit program, participating in an SA intramural sport, or playing on a rostered varsity team, each Zone member has the opportunity to find support and guidance from our program staff.
The goal is for each of our Zone members to graduate from high school with a plan that is focused on the future, with the support, skills, and tools to put that plan into action.
