RACES

Men's Championship 8K and Women's Championship 5K
  • Anticipated finishing times of 21:00 or under for the women’s 5K and 30:00 or under for the men’s 8K are guidelines for participation in the Championship races.
  • The first 550 adult will receive Mayor’s Cup Cross Country t-shirts.
  • All races will be timed using ChampionChip technology.
  • Chips and instructions will be provided to all runners on the morning of the event.
  • USATF rules and regulations apply to all events.
  • Minimum age of 18 years old, or by invitation.
  • The following items are prohibited during the competition:
    • Use of headphones.
    • Running with pets.
    • Pushing of any “baby jogger”.

Youth Races
  • The youth portion consists of three races: girls’ & boys’ ages 6-10, girls’ & boys’ ages 11-12, and girls’ & boys’ ages 13-14.
  • The course is the same 1.1 mile loop for all three age divisions.
  • The first 350 youth entrants will receive Mayor’s Cup Cross Country t-shirts.
  • All races will be timed using ChampionChip technology.
  • Chips and instructions will be provided to all runners on the morning of the event.
  • USATF rules and regulations apply to all events.
  • The following are prohibited during the competition:
    • Use of headphones.
    • Running with pets, pushing of any “baby jogger”.
    • Adult/unofficial entrant running on-course alongside youth entrant.

 

Franklin Park 5K
  • The Franklin Park 5K (3.1 miles) seeks to give local runners, especially road racers, perhaps their single cross country racing opportunity of the year.
  • The race offers the same race course and cross country experience as the Women’s Championship 5K and Men’s Championship 8K. 
  • The event has been slotted within the schedule of events to allow its participants to watch the championship competitions.
