Here's what you can do on race day

Pre-Race Bib Stuffing
Captain: Andrea Domings
Volunteers will help prepare race packets in Hopkinton.
Thursday, May 31, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Pre-Race Bib Number and T-Shirt Pickup
Captain: Mary Miller
Volunteers will distribute bibs and participant t-shirts at Boston Marathon adidas RunBase located at 855 Boylston Street in Boston - right at the 26-mile mark of the Boston Marathon!

Thursday Shift 1: 11:30am-4:00pm
Thursday Shift 2: 3:30pm-8:15pm
Friday Shift 1: 11:30am-3:45pm
Friday Shift 2: 3:15pm-7:45pm
Saturday: 10:30am-4:00pm

Gear Check
Captain: Bob Pugsley
Official participants have the opportunity to check a bag with their belongings prior to the race. Volunteers will help athletes check a bag and then retrieve it after the race.

Sunday: 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Athletes With Disabilities (AWD)
Captain: Marla Runyan
Provide general support to athletes with disabilities before and after the race. Assist with racing wheelchair equipment, retrieve t-shirts and finisher medals for athletes, assist with race morning guide registration as needed. Escort athletes to start and supervise gear stored in AWD tent during the race.

Food Tent
Captain: Ed Wiederhold
Volunteers will help with set-up and distribution of various food and beverage products for runners after the race.

Marshals
Captain: Brian Rettman
Volunteers will assist with the flow of various entrances and exits around the Start/Finish area for athletes, press, spectators and elite athletes.

T-Shirt Distribution
Captain: Tom Donovan
Volunteers will set-up and distribute participant shirts to participants before and after the race.

Pulse Starts/Medal Distribution
Captain: Andy Deschenes
Volunteers will assist with start line-up and will then move to distribution of finishers’ medals.

Sunday: 7:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Course Monitor
Captain: Hap Farber
Volunteers will provide athletes with direction and support along the course. Volunteers will meet near the Start/Finish area and be transported to locations along the course.

Course Fluid Stations
Set-up and distribute fluids along the course.
Staffed by the following local running clubs: Central Mass Striders, Heartbreak Hill Striders, Parkway Running Club, Shamrock Running Club, Somerville Road Runners, and Wampanoag Road Runners

Medical
Captain: Chris Troyanos
Volunteers will set up medical equipment and provide medical assistance to runners.
