Scoring for the B.A.A. Distance Medley will be based on total, elapsed time. For example, someone who runs 14:00 minutes at the 5K, 29:00 at the 10K and 1:04:30 for the Half Marathon would end the series with a time of 1:47:30. This unique scoring system is intended to maximize interest in the series among runners, the general public, and the media. For more information on Age Group Information, click the button below:

Everyone who completes all three races, or signed up for the Series in January will receive the following:

  • Each athlete will be awarded a special commemorative medal for the series in addition to receiving a finisher’s medal for each race.
  • Each athlete will be listed in our exclusive Medley Leaderboard; showing the top male and female competitors throughout the series.
  • Each athlete will receive a unique bib number to be used throughout the series, indicating they are B.A.A. Distance Medley participants.

2010 - The Hoyts

When many think of the Boston Marathon, they think of Team Hoyt, the father/son team of Dick and Rick who have participated in their unique way 28 times. Dick was 69 at the 2010 Boston Marathon.
