HEAD COACH - B.A.A. HIGH PERFORMANCE

The Boston Athletic Association is seeking an experienced, performance driven Head Coach for the B.A.A. High Performance team. Reporting directly to the Director of Athletic Programs, the High Performance Head Coach is responsible for recruiting, developing, and coaching a team of U.S. athletes living and training in the Greater Boston area. The Boston Athletic Association’s High Performance Head Coach will aspire to lead the sport in athlete development and performance, with the goals of attaining national and international level performances, with an emphasis on U.S. Championships.

The Head Coach will uphold the image and reputation of the B.A.A. and its sponsors, and will support and encourage engagement of the High Performance team members within the club and the local running community. The Head Coach and the athletes they develop will strive to be positive representatives of the organization both in and out of competition, and will be ambassadors for the sport of running.

Skills and Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of coaching experience in the collegiate and/or elite level club system preferred
  • Coached athletes that have achieved national and/or international level of performances
  • Knowledge of various middle-distance and long-distance running training programs and systems
  • Competitive athletic experiences from which to draw upon is preferred
  • Requisite leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the competitive athletics environment, both in the U.S. and globally
  • USATF Coaching certification (Level 1 minimum) or similar certification
  • Registered USATF Coach
