BOSTON – Equinox and the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today proudly announced the beginning of a multiple-year sponsorship agreement, connecting the high performance lifestyle leader to the Boston Marathon, the world’s oldest annual marathon. Together, Equinox and the Boston Marathon will further their parallel missions of promoting healthy lifestyles through athletics.
Since its inception in 1991, Equinox has distinguished itself in the performance industry with 86 global locations dedicated to all aspects of fitness, including movement, nutrition, and regeneration. Equinox-branded programs, services, and products include strength and cardio training, studio classes, personal training, spa services and products, apparel, and food/juice bars.
Equinox has deep roots in Boston, opening its first location on Dartmouth St. in 2007, just steps from the Boston Marathon finish line. Equinox opened additional locations at Franklin St. and Chestnut Hill in 2009 and 2011, respectively, along with Equinox Sports Club Boston in 2014. Equinox is preparing for the opening of its fifth Boston-area location in the Seaport District later this year.
As an official sponsor, Equinox will have a presence before the start and after the finish of the 121st Boston Marathon on April 17, 2017. At the Athletes’ Village in Hopkinton, Equinox will help runners get in the zone for their 26.2-mile journey to Boston via a first look at its soon-to-launch guided meditations, which will be available on the Equinox app in May. Beyond the finish in Boston, Equinox will have an experiential presence connecting with spectators, family, and friends of runners.
