Heather Abbott Foundation
PLEASE NOTE THAT HEATHER ABBOTT FOUNDATION IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THEIR 128TH BOSTON MARATHON TEAM.
Join the Heather Abbott Foundation’s Team Limb-it-less and raise funds to help amputees residing in the US to obtain prosthetic devices. The Heather Abbott Foundation (HAF) was formed following the tragic Boston Marathon bombing on April 15, 2013. On that day, three lives were lost and several hundred were injured. Among them was Heather, who lost her left leg below the knee, requiring her to live her remaining days as an amputee. To pay forward the generosity of thousands who supported those affected by the bombing Heather founded HAF in 2014, which provides prosthetic devices to limb loss victims of traumatic circumstances.
Being a member of Boston’s Team Limb-it-less is an incredible honor. If accepted to the team, not only will you cross the finish line of the world’s oldest and most prestigious marathon, but you’ll also make a big impact in the lives of amputees. The funds that you raise will allow HAF to provide grants for prosthetic devices which victims of traumatic circumstances otherwise could not afford. As a part of HAF’s Team Limb-it-less you will:
- Be an ambassador for HAF and our mission
- Receive assistance with travel/hotel/marathon day logistics
- Enjoy team camaraderie, including the sharing of training and fundraising tips
- Receive HAF branded gear, including a running day singlet
- Attend a Team brunch inclusive of HAF beneficiary special guests
- Receive tickets to HAF’s Boston Marathon Watch Party at Rochambeau Restaurant, where your family and friends will enjoy music, top notch cuisine and a prime location on Boylston Street to see you get ready to cross the finish line
- Feel great about helping your community!
We are so thrilled in your interest to run for HAF! We look forward to reviewing your application!
