For 25 years, Tenacity has met a critical need for positive enriching in-school, after-school and summer programs for underserved Boston youth. Offered in partnership with the Boston Public Schools, Tenacity's programs provide a Pathway to Post-Secondary Success through a combination of academic enrichment, mentoring, family engagement and tennis/fitness coaching which improve educational outcomes and help transform the lives of the youth we serve. Tenacity programs are offered free of charge to all students.
The heart of the Tenacity Pathway program begins in 6th grade with Ace Academy then continues through College & Career Prep and Post-Secondary services. The Summer Tennis & Reading Program complements our school-year programs, providing a year-round pathway for success both inside and outside of the classroom.
Tenacity’s Pathway programs enable young people to build self-confidence and explore success as students, mentors and leaders. We open educational and career pathways that offer countless opportunities for personal, civic and professional growth. The outcomes are striking. Tenacity has maintained a 95% high school graduation rate among students who have completed our Middle School Academy, with 80% of these graduates going on to higher education. Currently, over 6,000 youth participate in Tenacity’s in-school, after school, and summer programs annually.
