Women’s Lunch Place
Women’s Lunch Place inspires hope and supports the development of self-sustaining skills for women experiencing hunger, homelessness, and poverty. We create a safe, welcoming day shelter community in which we respect the dignity of our guests. We build trusting relationships to provide individualized, integrated services focused on nutrition, health, housing, and economic empowerment. Last year alone, we:
- Prepared and served 113,430 healthy meals to women in need
- Held 7,026 meetings between our guests and their care coordinators
- Worked in concert with 250 women whose housing was in jeopardy––many of whom were homeless––to secure housing or preserve their tenancy.
- Provided healthcare to 1,076 women in our on-site medical clinic, operated by our partners at Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program
This year, Women's Lunch Place is giving five runners the chance to participate in America's most historic race while also raising funds and awareness for our shelter and advocacy center. If you (or someone you know) are up for the challenge, we encourage you to join Team WLP. Candidates will be considered on a rolling basis, and we recommend reaching out as soon as possible.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to directly support women in need. Email Nicole Kosar (email@example.com) to inquire about joining Team WLP.
