RunBase Will Begin Transformation to Serve Broad Range of Athletes and Their Needs

adidas to go beyond running, celebrating Boston’s sports heritage at Boylston Street store.

BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association appreciates that adidas regards Boston as one of the best sports cities in the world and will convert the existing RunBase located at the 26-mile mark of the Boston Marathon course (855 Boylston Street, Boston ) to an adidas retail store.  Situated approximately 400 meters from the Boston Marathon finish line, the adidas store will replace Boston Marathon adidas RunBase, but the new store will continue to have a running focus while now serving the needs of all athletes.

The new adidas store will support the B.A.A.’s mission of promoting fitness and healthy lifestyles through athletics by providing access to community events and programming. At the close of business on December 5, Boston Marathon adidas RunBase (855 Boylston Street) will begin its transformation into an adidas store, celebrating running and other sports, as well. adidas has been the official footwear and apparel sponsor of the B.A.A. and all of its events, programs and club since 1989.

During the last 3.5 years, the B.A.A., adidas and Marathon Sports have welcomed tens of thousands of runners to RunBase, providing a place to meet for runs, shop for the latest adidas gear, and to learn about the history of the Boston Marathon and the sport of running. From training clinics to yoga sessions and from meet-and-greets with elite athletes to charity group runs, Boston Marathon adidas RunBase has served as a hub for runners of all abilities.

Through December 5, Boston Marathon adidas RunBase will continue to serve Boston runners through a variety of events and activities, including:

  • Informal Tuesday night runs at 6:30 p.m.
  • Facebook Live training tips and clinics
  • B.A.A. Running Club runs

Since opening in April 2015, the B.A.A. and Boston Marathon adidas RunBase have celebrated the history, passion, and dedication of Boston runners. More information regarding the transition from Boston Marathon adidas RunBase to an adidas performance specialty store can be found below.
