2015 B.A.A. 5K is scheduled for Saturday, April 18

The 2015 B.A.A. 5K will be held on Saturday, April 18, two days before the 2015 Boston Marathon. The start and finish is located at Boston Common. Registration will open on Wednesday, February 4 at 10:00 a.m. ET.

2015 Boston Marathon Qualifier Acceptances

The Boston Athletic Association today continued its notification to applicants of their acceptance into the 2015 Boston Marathon. Those who are unable to be accepted also will receive notice today.

1920 - Ashland Start

The Boston Marathon began in Ashland, Massachusetts from 1897 through 1923 then moved to Hopkinton for the 1924 race. The course was lengthened to 26 miles, 385 yards to conform to the Olympic standard, and the starting line was moved west from Ashland to Hopkinton. Since then, the race has started in Hopkinton every year.
