  • The Boston Half begins and ends in Boston’s Franklin Park
  • The park, one of the oldest in America, is located in Boston’s Jamaica Plain, Roxbury and Dorchester neighborhoods
  • The rolling, out and back course runs along the Emerald Necklace Park System
  • With a start on Pierpont Road, the course proceeds out of Franklin Park, down Morton Street before turning around just shy of mile 2 to run up the Arborway, along New Washington Street and Forest Hills Drive, toward the Arnold Arboretum. Runners head past Jamaica Pond and Olmsted Park, taking a right just after Leverett Pond toward the Jamaicaway. Runners will continue to run on their left as the Jamaicaway becomes the Riverway, before turning around at approximately mile 7.2.
  • The course then passes Willow Pond and Olmsted Park, before the turn around point on The Riverway 4.75 miles into the race
  • On the return, athletes hug the eastern side of the Emerald Necklace, with Leverett Pond, and Jamaica Pond now on their right as they head back down the Arborway.
  • After a pair of out-and-back sections on Circuit Drive, athletes re-enter Franklin Park and finish on Pierpont Road.
