2018 B.A.A. Half Marathon

The 2018 B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Institute and the Jimmy Fund will be run on Sunday, October 7. The race begins and finishes near White Stadium (also known as Schoolboy Stadium), in Franklin Park, in Boston, MA. The race starts at 8:00 a.m. EDT. The B.A.A. Half Marathon is the third and final event in the 2018 B.A.A. Distance Medley.

Reigning Champions Return to Boston for this Sunday’s B.A.A. Half Marathon

Defending champions Daniel Salel and Joan Chelimo lead strong international field for 18th annual B.A.A. Half Marathon. 

BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association today announced the elite field for the 18th annual B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. Headlining the men’s field is three-time reigning B.A.A. Half Marathon champion Daniel Salel, who will toe the line against 2018 B.A.A. 10K winner Gabriel Geay.

2019 Boston Marathon Qualifier Acceptances

BOSTON - The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today continued its notification to applicants of their acceptance into the 2019 Boston Marathon®. In preparation for the 2019 Boston Marathon, the B.A.A. implemented the same registration process for qualified runners as it used in the 2012 through 2018 Boston Marathons, allowing the fastest qualifiers to register first. The 123rd Boston Marathon will be held on Monday, April 15, 2019 and will mark the 34th consecutive year that the event will have John Hancock as its principal sponsor.

Registration for the 2019 Boston Marathon has now closed after the maximum number of athletes who qualified and submitted for entry has been reached

The Boston Marathon does not have a waiting list, late registration on race weekend, or race day registration. Neither entry nor bibs may be transferred, deferred, or refunded.

Team B.A.A. Adds Three Athletes To High Performance Team

BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) announced today the addition of three athletes joining the B.A.A. High Performance Team. Bringing both professional and collegiate experience with them, Kaitlin (Gregg) Goodman, Erika Kemp, and Samantha Nadel join a B.A.A. roster led by High Performance Coach Ricardo Santos.

B.A.A. Announces New Framework for Athletes with Disabilities Divisions and Programs of the Boston Marathon

BOSTON —The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) announced it is implementing changes and a new framework for the Boston Marathon’s Athletes with Disabilities (AWD) Divisions and Programs. The changes will provide a greater range of opportunities for athletes with disabilities to participate and compete, and will further align AWD policies with existing Boston Marathon policies and the Paralympic Movement. The changes include John Hancock increasing the Push Rim Wheelchair Division prize purse to $125,000 to recognize top performers.

Registration for the 2019 Boston Marathon Opens Monday September 10

Field size will be 30,000 official entrants for the 123rd running on April 15

BOSTON -- Registration for the 2019 Boston Marathon opens on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. ET. The B.A.A. will use the same process to register qualified runners as it used in the 2012 through 2018 Boston Marathons, allowing the fastest qualifiers to register first.

Registration will be held entirely online at www.baa.org, and qualifying performances run since September 16, 2017 may be submitted for entry.
