BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today announced an elite field of world class competitors for the 2018 B.A.A. 5K and B.A.A. Invitational Mile, to be held on Saturday, April 14, two days prior to the 2018 Boston Marathon®. New Hampshire’s Ben True will return to Boston looking to earn his fifth B.A.A. 5K title, while Ethiopia’s Buze Diriba will defend her 2017 crown.

Sixteen members of U.S. Armed Forces to pass baton along course on Patriots' Day

BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today announced a commemorative military relay will be included in the 122nd running of the Boston Marathon on April 16, 2018. A team of sixteen active and retired military personnel -- representing five branches of the military and the eight cities and towns of the Marathon course -- will pass a baton along the race route in recognition of the B.A.A.’s Year of Service.

World best and course record holders Marcel Hug and Manuela Schar return to defend titles at the 122nd Boston Marathon on Patriots' Day

BOSTON – Eight Boston Marathon champions, including reigning winners Marcel Hug and Manuela Schar of Switzerland, will compete in the push rim wheelchair division of the 122nd Boston Marathon on Monday, April 16. More than 50 athletes will be part of the wheelchair division, which starts in Hopkinton before the open race featuring 30,000 runners.
