B.A.A. provides educational and accreditation opportunities for vital support staff

BOSTON— The Boston Athletic Association is leading the way in the marathon world by offering medical volunteers the chance to earn Continuing Education (CE) credits as part of their preparation for the Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America.

Boston  

Thanayi Henry is running the Boston Marathon as part of the CommUnity Runs Boston Program. She has been an Early Education Teacher (Kindergarten and First Grade) for 26 years and this year she is juggling her career, other activities and running 26.2 miles.  

Ashland

“I am running for Ashland and its many wonderful community programs and services”, shares 45-year-old registered nurse Margaret Kironde Musoke. 

The mother of four has spent years watching the marathon and it’s this annual event that reignited a love of running that she had in her younger years.  

Beasley Media Group Boston is excited to announce their newly minted, multi-year partnership with the Boston Athletic Association. 98.5 The Sports Hub/WBZ-FM, Country 102.5/WKLB, WROR 105.7, HOT 96.9/WBQT and Rock 92.9/WBOS will provide on-air content and marketing as well as onsite support beginning with the 2024 Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America. 

Saturday, April 13 Racing Kicks off Patriots' Day Weekend Festivities

BOSTON—The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) has announced the addition of seven athletes to the professional athlete field for the 128th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America. Among those now entered will be a pair of Boston Marathon champions, two top-five finishers from February’s U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Marathon and a global gold medalist on the track.

Set to compete at the 128th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America are:

BOSTON—The B.A.A. is delighted to announce that 4X NFL Super Bowl Rob Gronkowski is the recipient of the 2024 Patriots’ Award. This award is presented to a person or organization who is patriotic, philanthropic, and inspirational, and fosters goodwill and sportsmanship. The Patriots’ Award further unifies the Boston Marathon with Patriots’ Day, the holiday on which the race has been held since 1897.

Natick 

Helen Henkle Aguirre is an active volunteer and runner in her hometown. She is running for Keep Natick Beautiful (KNB) – a chapter of Keep Massachusetts Beautiful (KMB) – who she supports year-round to help clean up the marathon miles, and surrounding neighborhood. 

“Keep Natick Beautiful has a wonderful group of volunteers and I am really grateful to be a part of it. The passion of our leader – Pat Conway – is contagious and he radiates as he works to fulfill our mission. 

HOPKINTON 

For our penultimate city and town segment we head back to the start line in Hopkinton to hear from one of our charity partners and their long-serving volunteer; then stop in Natick where they are preparing for a big pre-race clean-up.
