Depth Added to Professional Fields for 128th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America

BOSTON—The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) has announced the addition of seven athletes to the professional athlete field for the 128th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America. Among those now entered will be a pair of Boston Marathon champions, two top-five finishers from February’s U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Marathon and a global gold medalist on the track.

Rob Gronkowski named as Patriots’ Award recipient and Grand Marshal for 2024 Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America

BOSTON—The B.A.A. is delighted to announce that 4X NFL Super Bowl Rob Gronkowski is the recipient of the 2024 Patriots’ Award. This award is presented to a person or organization who is patriotic, philanthropic, and inspirational, and fosters goodwill and sportsmanship. The Patriots’ Award further unifies the Boston Marathon with Patriots’ Day, the holiday on which the race has been held since 1897.

Natick 

Helen Henkle Aguirre is an active volunteer and runner in her hometown. She is running for Keep Natick Beautiful (KNB) – a chapter of Keep Massachusetts Beautiful (KMB) – who she supports year-round to help clean up the marathon miles, and surrounding neighborhood. 

“Keep Natick Beautiful has a wonderful group of volunteers and I am really grateful to be a part of it. The passion of our leader – Pat Conway – is contagious and he radiates as he works to fulfill our mission.

Brookline

As the first-ever Boston Marathon municipal charity team, Team Brookline harnesses the power of sport to strengthen, support, and unite the Brookline community. Team Brookline raises funds and awareness for its five charity partners namely The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health, Brookline Education Foundation, Brookline Library Foundation, Brookline Symphony Orchestra, and Brookline Teen Center.
