Spectator Tips & Guidelines
What to know before Sunday's Boston 5K.
The race starts near Boston Common at 8:00 a.m. and finishes at the Boston Marathon Finish Line.

Streets and roadways which comprise and abut the 5K course will be closed to vehicular traffic at approximately 7:30 a.m. on race day.
Spectators are not allowed to enter the course, run alongside athletes, or impede athletes in any manner. Security personnel, public safety representatives, and Race Officials will be located throughout the course.
Please be respectful of the environment and community. Spectators are asked not to throw anything onto the course, including but not limited to confetti or streamers. Please pick up any trash from your area, and respect traditional carry-in, carry-out standards.
The B.A.A. and all public safety agencies encourage the public to actively participate in the See Something Say Something campaign. Spectators are asked to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious conduct or items to the closest law enforcement officer or by calling 9-1-1.
The Course
The Boston 5K route begins next to the Public Garden on Boylston Street and runs down picturesque Commonwealth Avenue. Athletes pass through Kenmore Square and underneath the Boston Strong bridge before taking a right on Hereford and left on Boylston Street, finishing at the Boston Marathon finish line.
