Established in 1887, the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) is a non-profit organization with a mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports, especially running. The B.A.A. is committed to furthering its mission by investing in the communities where we live and work, most notably through the Boston Marathon Official Charity Program.
This year the B.A.A. is excited to launch a team of fundraising athletes who will run on behalf of the B.A.A.’s community engagement efforts at the 123rd Boston Marathon on April 15, 2019. The team will consist of 15 participants raising funds to support the B.A.A.’s mission of bringing the benefits of running and healthy lifestyles to the greater community.
As part of the B.A.A.’s inaugural charity marathon team, participants will receive:
- Access to experienced coaching and training assistance
- Race day perks including private bussing and access to a special pre-start area in Hopkinton
- Team apparel from adidas
- Weekly communications from team manager and fundraising support
- Events to meet fellow runners and learn about the B.A.A.’s Youth and Community Engagement Programs
