Good Sports is no longer accepting applications for invitational entry into the 2019 Boston Marathon
Thank you for your interest in running for Good Sports. Our 2019 Boston Marathon team has been filled and we are currently only accepting registered runners who are interested in fundraising for Good Sports. If interested, please contact Rebecca Lynch at email@example.com.
Good Sports believes kids who play do better. They become more confident, make new friends, are more engaged in the classroom and decrease their risk of obesity and other health-related diseases. The problem? Increased pay-to-play costs and limited Physical Education budgets prevent kids in need from playing sports and being active. High equipment costs limit youth organizations’ ability to deliver the life-changing impact of sports and physical activity to the children they serve.
The good news is, there is a solution. Good Sports’ mission is to give all kids the lifelong benefits of sport and physical activity by providing new equipment, apparel and footwear to youth organizations in high-need areas, such as Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, schools and more. Alleviating the cost of equipment enables organizations to lower fees and improve their programming. Good Sports began in 2003 with a donation of 500 basketballs to local Boston programs. The organization has since teamed up with additional equipment partners to deliver $28 million dollars’ worth of brand-new equipment to youth organizations in every state – giving over five million kids in need the chance to play!
Good Sports is thrilled to be an official charity of the Boston Athletic Association for the 2019 Boston Marathon. Please click the button below to access the runner application.
