Volunteer at the 2019 B.A.A. Half Marathon

Thank You Volunteers!

On behalf of our participants, staff, and Board of Governors, thank you for volunteering at the 19th annual B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund! We hope you enjoyed your experience as a B.A.A. Volunteer. Whether you volunteered at bib stuffing, bus loading, in Franklin Park, or on the course, your efforts were sincerely appreciated by all.

On a perfect fall day, over 600 volunteers supported 6,431 participants on their 13.1 mile journey through Franklin Park and the Emerald Necklace. A total of 2,113 participants completed the Distance Medley, comprised of the B.A.A. 5K in April, the B.A.A. 10K in June, and the B.A.A. Half Marathon in October. Included in the field were 335 participants who fundraised nearly $500,000 for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. Two course records were broken: Brillian Kipkoech set a new women’s course record of 1:07:40, and Katrina Gerhard set a new women’s wheelchair division record of 1:00:43.

We could not put on our races without volunteers like you. Your hard work, enthusiasm, and dedication is noticed by all our participants and spectators. Your time and energy are valuable, and we are grateful that you chose to give your Sunday morning to the B.A.A. and our community of participants.

As we look ahead to 2020, we hope you will join us again as a volunteer!

Volunteer registration for the 2020 B.A.A. Half Marathon will open in August 2020.
