Boston Athletic Association Partners with Normatec by Hyperice on Athlete Recovery for Runners

The Boston Athletic Association, organizer of the Boston Marathon and running programs in Massachusetts, has partnered with Normatec by Hyperice, global leaders in athlete recovery, to bring recovery technology to the B.A.A.’s team of athletes. Normatec will serve as an Official Contributor to the B.A.A. including the B.A.A. High Performance Team and B.A.A. Running Club.

Boston Athletic Association Announces Nightly Race Week Show Boston Marathon Live Presented by Amazon and WBZ-TV

The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) has announced the debut of a nightly broadcast Boston Marathon Live presented by Amazon and WBZ-TV, which will air every night Monday, September 7 through Sunday, September 13. Co-produced by the B.A.A. and WBZ-TV, a new one-hour show will premiere on CBSBoston.com each night at 8:00PM ET and re-air at midnight. Each show can be viewed worldwide.

124th Boston Marathon Virtual Experience Mobile App & Web Platform Launching Thursday, August 27

The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) has announced that the brand new 124th Boston Marathon Virtual Experience mobile app powered by AT&T and web platform will launch to registered participants on Thursday, August 27. The mobile app and web platform will host exclusive content designed specifically for the Boston Marathon Virtual Experience.

Registration for 124th Boston Marathon Virtual Experience to Open Tuesday, July 7

The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) has announced that registration for the 124th Boston Marathon Virtual Experience will open on Tuesday, July 7 at 10:00 a.m. The virtual race is open only to participants who were originally entered in the Boston Marathon scheduled for April 20, 2020.

124th Boston Marathon to be Held Virtually

The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) has announced that the 124th Boston Marathon will be held as a virtual event, following Boston Mayor Martin Walsh’s cancellation of the marathon as a mass participation road running event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The virtual Boston Marathon will be complemented by a series of virtual events throughout the second week of September.

B.A.A. Recognizes Student-Athletes through Class of 2020 and B.A.A. Honor Roll

The Boston Athletic Association proudly recognizes the B.A.A. Scholastic Mile Class of 2020 and Middle School 1K Honor Roll. Sixty-four middle and high school athletes from the cities and towns along the Boston Marathon route have been named to the lists, which celebrates student-athletes who were selected to represent their hometowns on Boston Marathon weekend.

Keizo Yamada

The B.A.A. has learned that Keizo Yamada, the 1953 Boston Marathon champion from Japan, passed away on April 2 of natural causes at the age of 92. At the 57th Boston Marathon, Yamada set a new course record by claiming victory in a time of 2 hours, 18 minutes and 51 seconds, becoming the race’s second champion from Japan.

The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annual marathon. The B.A.A. manages this American classic, which is sponsored by John Hancock. This year's edition will be the 124th running of the iconic event.
