Boston Champions Set to Square Off at Sunday’s 19th annual B.A.A. Half Marathon

BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association today announced the elite field for the 19th annual B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. Headlining the men’s field is 2012 Boston Marathon champion Wesley Korir, who will toe the line against three-time B.A.A. Half Marathon champion and fellow Kenyan Daniel Salel. Ethiopia’s Gotytom Gebreslase and Kenya’s Monicah Ngige, both podium finishers a year ago, lead the women’s field. The B.A.A.

2020 Boston Marathon Qualifier Acceptances Announced

BOSTON - The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today continued its notification to qualified applicants of their acceptance into the 2020 Boston Marathon®. In preparation for the 2020 Boston Marathon, the B.A.A. implemented the same registration process for qualified runners as used in recent years, allowing the fastest qualifiers to register first. The 124th Boston Marathon will be held on Monday, April 20, 2020 and will mark the 35th consecutive year that John Hancock will serve as principal sponsor.

Open Registration for the 2020 Boston Marathon Has Closed

The Boston Athletic Association thanks the running community for the support shown during 2020 Boston Marathon registration. Registration is now closed for qualified open athletes.

The B.A.A. recognizes and thanks all who have worked hard to achieve their goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Due to field size limitations, we are unable to accept all entries for next April’s race.

Boston Marathon Registration

Registration for the 2020 Boston Marathon will open on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. ET. The B.A.A. will use the same process to register qualified open runners as it has used in recent years, allowing the fastest qualifiers in their gender and age group to register first.  The qualification window for the 2020 Boston Marathon began on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

Registration for the 2020 Boston Marathon opens on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. ET. The B.A.A. will use the same process to register qualified participants as in recent years, allowing the fastest qualifiers to register first. Registration will be held entirely online at www.baa.org and qualifying performances achieved on or after September 15, 2018 may be submitted for entry. The 124th annual race will mark the 35th consecutive year that John Hancock will serve as principal sponsor.

B.A.A. Announces Coaching Changes to High Performance Team

The Boston Athletic Association today announced coaching changes to the B.A.A. High Performance team. Ricardo Santos, head coach of the B.A.A. High Performance team since February of 2018, has accepted a position as distance running coach at Stanford University, and will begin his new position in September. Morgan Uceny, a 2012 Olympian at 1,500-meters, has been named interim head coach of the B.A.A. High Performance team as the organization begins a search for the next coach.
